Our Story...
Out Of The Blue is owned and operated by our family. My father in law (Gord), and myself (Tia) both have love for crafting...and perfectionism I might add :) He is an exceptional wood worker and I have an eye for detail when making jewelry. In 2022 at Christmas time, we came up with a plan to combine our crafts to form a new, unique business that would offer custom designs to our customers. We named it Out Of The Blue literally because our workshop is blue! We held our breath and gave it a try and see how people would respond. And guess what? They loved it!
Since then we have worked on expanding our product lines, refining details, adding color or gems, and taking custom orders from our customers. People love to stop by and share their ideas, tell us how much they love our earrings, and even to buy their 2nd, 3rd, 4th........10th, 11th, 12th.......even 20th pair! Yes we have earring collectors now!
Last year we decided to add a business page to Facebook and Instagram, and this year the website/online store. We are happy we can now share our products with everyone all over Canada! That's mind-blowing to even think about that. We strive to keep our prices and our shipping rates as low as possible.
Our Products...
We make a variety of laser cut products out of a variety of hardwoods. We use maple, ash, cherry, walnut, oak, paduk, purple heart, yellow heart which are 1/8" thick. The earrings we cut from these are extremely light weight, and are finished with stainless steel hardware.
Stainless steel is amazing for allergy people, including myself. It is hypoallergenic, won't cause itching or burning, and will never tarnish or peel. This results in earrings that you can wear over and over again for years to come. (Just don't shower with them as the wood with soak up the water.)
Our design ideas come from research, trends, our lifestyle, and people of course! As unique as they are, sometimes people want something made that has personal meaning to them. This is why we offer custom designs. We work with you until your happy, and once you personally approve the file, we create it! Your only limitation is your imagination!
